Now Playing: just the hum of the 'puter...& cat meowing...
the sky is beautiful after a stormy night. I wish I had film for my camera those storm clouds were awesome! I love to gaze up at the clouds... especially when it storms.

When I was a little kid, storms frightened me so bad I would crawl up under the kitchen table. No one, nothing, could draw my attention away from the rumbling thunder. I remember too that I would be frightened when the trees bent over from the wind.

Now that I'm older, storms don't really scare me, unless, its a tornado. Thats the time to run for cover!

G' morning
Yesterday was too hot,too muggy. Then it rained lightly through the night. This morning, fog, cooler temps...a blessing. :)

...my thoughts.....
yesterday evening, hubby and I went for a bike ride, through the neighborhood. we have a lovely place in which to ride...tree lined streets...old houses, some look like storybook houses. Folks were out washing their cars, some were visiting other neighbors, and others were out for a stroll.

I've been sitting here quite a long while...and I'm just about ready to hit the hay.

It's been nice coming on here and typing away. :)

.......until the next post...Ta-Ta & a good evening or should I say morning.

House Plants & Flowers
Topic: Helpful Hints
House plants require proper watering;
With house plants the important thing is the watering. It is the root and not the top soil that needs moisture. Use soft water if possible and take the chill off. Set the pot in a pan and let it soak till the moisture is visible near the top. A plant thus watered will not need water for four or five days longer. Keep the top soil fine and do not let it crust. This helps to retain moisture and let in air. This is the only way to water an established root-bound plant.

Re-rooting Rose Bush Slips; If you wish to slip a rose bush cut off your slip and then stick the stem into a white potato. You will find that the slip will take root. This is the surest way to make it root.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Restoring Faded Flowers; Flowers which are fading may be restored by immersing them half way up their stems in very hot water and allowing them to remain in it until it cools. Then cut off the scalded portions of the stems and place the flowers in clear, cold water.

Color in Ferns; A teaspoonful of household ammonia added to one quart of water poured over your fern will give it a rich green color.
